The Time for Serious Change

We must work together to build a strong Port that maintains jobs for our region, improves our transportation system while enhancing our commitment to protect the environment.

For too long, back room deals have lead to waste and fraud at the Port of Seattle. We can do much better. It is time to build a Port Commission with a commitment to good government and a lower tax burden.

With independent audits showing "$100 million in waste" and findings of fraud, the Port of Seattle has failed us. At a time when we are closing public schools and cutting state funding for education and children's healthcare, we must end this abuse of the public trust.

As a former business owner and tenant of the Port of Seattle, Thom has 11 years of direct experience and insight needed to fix the problems at the Port.

As a Port Commissioner, Thom will:

• Push for Open and Transparent government
• Produce meaningful environmental improvements
• Create a more competitive Working Port to maintain high quality, family-wage jobs
• Reduce and eliminate the Port Property Tax

Scandal, mismanagement and fraud have gone unchecked while your Port property tax increased for years. Other competing ports operate without a tax subsidy. The Port of Seattle should be a self-sustaining, competitive working port.
