"It's time to establish a new level of efficiency, accountability and transparency at the Port of Seattle."
I would like to thank everyone who voted for me in the primary on Aug 21, 2007. While the results were initially disappointing, I have had a tremendous amount of positive feedback on this campaign. Given a number of factors, I actually did quite well to finish 3rd with 36,604 votes.
This campaign had a impact on the direction of the Port of Seattle. I raised unique issues and the Commission is responding to those issues based on my support in this election.
I will stay active in Port issues. With 3 seats up for election 2009, we will have an opportunity to finally bring a reform majority to the Port. With that in mind, I will work to support true reform candidates.
For now, Please help to re-elect Alec Fisken in Nov, 2007!

As a former business owner and tenant of the Port of Seattle, Thom has over 10 years of direct experience and insight needed to fix the problems at the Port.
The Port’s portion of your King County property tax has doubled in the last 6 years while other competing ports operate without a tax subsidy. The Port of Seattle should be a self-sustaining, competitive working port.
This year, we have the first opportunity in decades to have a voting majority on our Port Commission for the environment, family wage jobs AND a reduced tax burden.
We deserve government that operates openly and assures our resources are invested wisely. When it fails, we must demand change!
